CONDITIONS OF USE

The Holiday Contract is a sales formula for international tourists staying between 17 days and 6 months abroad or in the French Overseas Departments and Territories (outside the EU), who can enjoy the current tax-free system in France.

Applicable tariff conditions in Metropolitan France from 01.04.2005

Within the framework of French law, tax-free vehicles with Temporary Transit registration can only be used by tourists of any nationality who:

1. have their main place of residence outside the European Union.
2. are temporarily resident in France, i.e. less than 175 days out of a period of 12 consecutive months.
3. do not carry out any gainful employment during their stay.

These three conditions must be met simultaneously.

• Nationals of European Union countries living abroad (outside the EU) or in the French Overseas Departments and Territories who, in addition to the aforementioned conditions, must provide proof of reassignment at the end of their vacation in Metropolitan France or in another Member State of the European Union.
• Students, trainees, teachers, journalists or employees on a precisely defined mission in France and whose main place of residence is in one of the French Overseas Departments and Territories or abroad (outside the EU) can take advantage of the Temporary Transit taxation system for a maximum of one year.
• The following are considered to be equivalent beneficiaries and can therefore use the vehicle with Temporary Transit registration: spouse, common-law partner (with proof of a certificate of cohabitation, PACS [pacte civil de solidarité, a civil union contract]), direct ascendants and descendants if they meet the requirements for the Temporary Transit system.
